Hi, I'm Jennie Austin
SEO Account Director. Creative weirdo. Dog mom. Cat servant. Gemini. Enneagram 2w3, which basically means I genuinely want to help you, and I also wouldn't say no to a public shoutout.
I live on Florida's Emerald Coast with my husband, two young daughters, two cats, and my blind, geriatric dog who makes occasional Zoom meeting appearances and is, objectively, a great icebreaker.
What I Do (& Love)
By day, I'm an Account Director at Avalanche Creative, where I lead SEO strategy for a roster of clients and spend a lot of time being equal parts translator, educator, and hype person. I help businesses grow their organic visibility using strategies grounded in data and guided by intuition, because the numbers tell you what happened, but experience tells you what to do about it.
I also take on freelance web design and branding work for small businesses through my own practice. And when I'm in a more illustrative mood, you can find me over at DEL Design Co., my creative imprint where I make printable templates, social media graphics, and digital illustrations.
The Art School Origin Story
I studied Studio Art at Grand Valley State University, and while I didn't end up in a gallery, that background shows up in everything I do. I can't look at a website without noticing the kerning. I care deeply about visual hierarchy. I will absolutely redesign a client's call-to-action button if it's the wrong shade of the wrong color and we both know it.
My first marketing job was at a global wholesaler of smartphone replacement parts, which is not a glamorous origin story, but it's where I discovered that I loved digital marketing and was actually pretty good at it. More than a decade later, here we are.
