The Overview
Emerald Coast Period Pantry (ECPP) is a mutual aid organization working to close the gap in access to period products across the Emerald Coast. Founded by Samantha, ECPP stocks pantry locations and donation drop boxes throughout the region so that anyone who needs period products can find them, no questions asked.
When Samantha and I started working together, ECPP already had real momentum: pantry locations on the ground, a growing network of drop boxes, and a mission people believed in. What the organization needed was a digital home that could keep up with that growth and actually help people find what they were looking for.
Where It Started
ECPP's original website was a Google Site, and it did what it needed to do to get the organization off the ground. But as more pantry and drop box locations come online, we knew the site would struggle to keep pace. Finding a specific location wasn't always intuitive, updates were hard to surface, and the site wasn't built to grow alongside the mission.
Around the same time, Samantha had refreshed ECPP's branding and logo, giving the organization a clearer visual identity. That refresh made this the right moment for a website that could match the mission and the new look.
The Website Build
This project centered on making ECPP's network of locations genuinely easy to find and navigate. That meant building out:
Dedicated pages for every pantry location, and dedicated pages for every donation drop box, spanning the full Emerald Coast footprint from Pensacola to Crestview. Instead of one crowded list, each location gets its own clear, findable page.
A newsletter signup and a home for ongoing ECPP news and events, so the community can stay current on new locations, drives, and organization updates in one place.
The real backbone of the build, though, is on the back end. The site runs on WordPress using Custom Post Types and Advanced Custom Fields, which means every new pantry or drop box location is its own structured entry. As ECPP expands, Samantha can add a new location herself by filling out a simple form, no developer or designer required.
That part matters most to me. I want the people I build for to actually own what they run. A mutual aid organization moves fast and grows in ways no one can fully predict, and the site needed to move with Samantha, not hold her back until someone else had time to update it.
What We've Built Together
ECPP now has a website built to grow the same way the organization does: location by location, without friction. The structure is there to support pantries and drop boxes that don't exist yet, and Samantha has full control to add them the moment they do.
The site just launched, so the full story of its impact is still being written. But the foundation is solid, and Emerald Coast Period Pantry is easier to find than ever.
