Mobile Defenders is the leading domestic wholesaler of smartphone and tablet replacement parts, providing high-quality product to repair locations across the United States and internationally.
The Assignment
Mobile Defenders wanted to create an automation tool that allowed their regularly ordering customers to spend less time placing stock orders and more time growing their repair business.
The Solution
My team coordinated with our web development partner to create the Cart Autosettle feature on Mobile Defenders’ website. With this feature, customers can schedule specific days and times of the week that they would like their stock orders to automatically be placed.
We also wanted this solution to allow customers to reserve stock before order placement so that fast-moving items in their cart won’t go out of stock before their order is placed. In an industry where shipping times are crucial to helping the end consumer get their phone fixed sooner, nothing is more frustrating than having an item in your cart go out of stock before placing your orders at the end of the day.
The third important facet of the feature is a text message or email reminder 30 minutes before the scheduled settlement time. As busy repair shops, many customers tend to come in towards the end of the day—the same time that most suppliers have their same-day shipping cutoff time. Text reminders before order settlement allows repair shop owners and managers to make the necessary changes to their cart before cutoff time.
The marketing campaign for this launch involved a social media hype post, a targeted newsletter campaign, and a blog post focused on funneling visitors to the landing page to fill out a lead-generating form. Additionally, we developed some training resources for both customers and our sales team.
